Abstract: We will establish the spectral theory of second-order linear difference operators with indefinite weights by using analytical method and algebraic method respectively, and establish the discrete Fucik spectral theory by using matched continuation method, and study the global structure of the variable sign solution set of corresponding nonlinear problems by using bifurcation theory.
The brief introduction to the reporter: Ma received his Ph.D. degree from Lanzhou University in 1997 and became a professor in the same year. From 1998 to 1999, he was a visiting scholar at Central State University, Connecticut, USA (CCSU). From 2004 to 2005, he was a visiting scholar at University of Queensland, Australia (UQ). He is currently the academic dean, professor and doctoral supervisor of the School of Mathematics and Statistics of Northwest Normal University, vice chairman of Gansu Mathematics Association, and the 12th director of China Mathematics Association. His research fields are the spectral theory of linear differential, difference operator and the divergence of solution set for boundary value problems of nonlinear differential equations. He has published papers in JFA, JDE and other SCI publications, and has been included in Elsevier's list of highly cited scholars in China from 2014 to 2017. His papers have been cited more than 2556 times by SCI. Ma Ruyun published his monographs "Nonlocal Problems of Nonlinear Ordinary Differential Equations" and "Nonlinear Perturbations of Linear Differential Equations" in 2004 in the Science Publishing House.
