Abstract: Mahonian statistics are important statistics on permutations. The classical parking functions are a famous combinatorial model. In this talk, we will discuss an interesting fact that some Mahonian statistics on permutations can be derived naturally by classical parking functions.
The brief introduction to the reporter: He graduated from the Department of mathematics of National Taiwan University in 1978 and obtained a bachelor's degree. Both master's degree and doctorate were obtained at the Department of mathematics of State University of New York, Buffalo branch in 1983 and 1985. From 1985 to 1987 he studied at Department of information and Mathematics of University of Quebec in Canada, Montreal branch, then he returned to Taiwan in July 1987 as the Associate Research Fellow of the Institute of mathematics at the Academia Sinica and was promoted to a researcher in 1991. He has served as an adjunct professor in the Department of Information of Taiwan Normal University, the Department of Information of Taiwan University, Department of mathematics of National Chiao Tung University, Department of mathematics of National Cheng Kung University, Department of mathematics of Changhua Normal University, Department of mathematics of Taiwan Normal University and Department of mathematics of National Taiwan University. From 1991 to 1992 he was a visiting scholar at the Institute of mathematics at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology for a year, at the Institute of economy of Monash University in Australia in the summer of 1995 and at the Institute of Statistics of berkeley university in the summer of 1999. He won the outstanding prize of National Science Council in 1992 and 1994, outstanding plan research prize of National Science Council from 2009 to 2012, Academic outstanding prize of Academia Sinica from 2011 to 2015. At present, the research field of Ye Yongnan researcher is mainly in the Tutte polynomial of the graph and its related composite structure and the uniform partitions of calculation combination and he has published more than a hundred of the papers.
