报告摘要：The study of finite geometry by exploring its connection with group theory has been very fruitful in recent years, and there have been instances where geometric arguments play a crucial role in solving important group theoretical problems. In this talk, I will report on recent progress in both directions, including the study of highly transitive finite generalized quadrangles and unipotent radicals of finite classical groups.

报告人简介：冯涛，浙江大学新浦金350vip一研究员，博士生导师。2008年毕业于北京大学新浦金350vip一，先后在新加坡南阳理工大学、美国特拉华大学做博士后，20011年8月加入浙大新浦金350vip一。主持国家自然科学基金杰出青年基金、优秀青年基金等项目。
